First Genomics Sequencing Machine in West Africa
ACEGID Reaches a Milestone; installed the First Genomics Sequencing Machine (Miseq) in Nigeria and in West Africa.
The ACEGID Laboratory at the Redeemer's University in collaboration with its partners at Broad Institute at MIT, Redeemer's University and Illumina, Inc. has installed the FIRST Genomics sequencing machine (Miseq) in Nigeria and in West Africa. No longer do Nigerian or West African institutions need to send samples overseas for sequencing. The MiSeq desktop sequencer allows you to access more focused applications such as targeted gene sequencing, metagenomics, small genome sequencing, targeted gene expression, amplicon sequencing, and HLA typing.
We at ACEGID are very excited at the achievement of this milestone and we look forward to working with all of our colleagues West African institutions.
